In Mass Effect 3, Liara reappears on Mars trying to find ancient Prothean ruins. During the Shadow Broker DLC you can again pursue a romantic encounter with Liara, but only if you romanced her in Mass Effect 1. Shepard and Liara defeat him, and then Liara takes on the role of the Shadow Broker herself. Shepard and Liara discover that the Shadow Broker is a Yahg, who took the place of the previous Shadow Broker. Shepard and Liara eventually find the Shadow Broker's ship, the eye of a massive natural storm, caused by the large temperature difference between night and day on the planet. She is an information trader and is looking to find who, or whatever the Shadow Broker is. In Mass Effect 2 Liara is pursuing the Shadow Broker. Liara is the default romance of the video game trilogy Mass Effect, meaning that she a) always loves Shepard no matter what and b) can’t die and c) is always assumed to be loved by Shepard in return, whether as a friend or something more. Liara agrees to hand over Shepard's body to Cerberus, so they can bring him back to life, while she goes on to find the Shadow Broker to settle the score. The mission is successful, however Feron managed to save Liara at the price of getting captured. Liara agrees, but only for Shepard's sake. Liara meets The Illusive Man who convinces her of finding out why the Collectors hired the Shadow Broker to get Shepard's body. They barely escape the attack only to be captured by Miranda Lawson and taken to a Cerberus facility. Ending with Liara After the firing of the Crucible, Liara will be seen placing Shepards name on the Memorial Wall. Not to mention Shepard, the hero that they’ve spent 100 hours creating, making choices and developing relationships with. People want a happy ending to characters that they adore. The meeting is cut short by Blue Suns mercenaries. People are blind and thats why they hate ending of Mass Effect 3. Feron also informs her that the Collectors hired the Shadow Broker to find out the location of the body. After Feron the Drell informs Liara of Shepard's death at the beginning of Mass Effect 2, she decides to retrieve her friend's body.
